Privacy Policy
Effective & Last Updated: September 2026 • Strict Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Our Core Privacy Promise:
At WiFiQR Tool, your privacy is our foundational principle. When you enter your WiFi network name (SSID) and password to create a QR code, all processing happens exclusively inside your local web browser. Your network credentials are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored in any database.
1. Local Browser Processing (Client-Side Architecture)
Unlike conventional online services that send your form data across the internet to a remote server for processing, WiFiQR Tool is engineered as a purely client-side static web application.
When you click "Generate QR Code", a client-side JavaScript engine running in your browser's isolated sandbox compiles your network details into the standardized WIFI:S:...;T:...;P:...;; barcode matrix. The final QR code image (PNG canvas or SVG vector) is rendered directly in your browser's local memory.
Verification Tip: You can load wifiqrtool.com, turn off your device's WiFi or disconnect your internet cable, and generate, customize, and print QR codes completely offline.
2. No WiFi Password Storage
We do not possess a database, authentication backend, or persistent storage layer. Specifically:
- We never write your WiFi SSID, encryption type, or password to
localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB. - We never store credentials in browser cookies or cached state.
- As soon as you close your browser tab, refresh the window, or navigate away, every character you typed is instantly purged from device RAM.
3. No Server Transmission of WiFi Credentials
Your WiFi credentials never cross the internet. There are zero outbound fetch() requests, zero XMLHttpRequest calls, and zero background beacon APIs transmitting your inputs.
Because no network packet containing your password ever leaves your device, neither WiFiQR Tool, your internet service provider (ISP), nor any middleman can intercept or view your wireless network configuration.
4. Cookies and Analytics Explanation
We maintain an intentionally lightweight and privacy-respecting posture regarding analytics and cookies:
- No Tracking Cookies: We do not deploy cross-site tracking cookies, behavioral advertising cookies, or browser fingerprinting scripts.
- No User Profiling: We do not build personal profiles or track users across third-party websites.
- Standard Server Logs: Like all websites, our static content delivery hosting automatically records basic technical connection logs (such as IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, and timestamp) solely for network security, DDoS mitigation, and server health. These logs are automated, temporary, and cannot contain WiFi passwords entered into our tool.
5. Third-Party Services
WiFiQR Tool does not partner with data brokers, ad retargeting networks, or third-party profiling vendors.
If you upload an image file (such as a company logo) to place in the center of your QR code, the image is read locally using the browser's native HTML5 FileReader API. It is never uploaded to an external server or cloud bucket.
6. Data Security
We believe the best data security is zero data collection. By executing all QR code generation client-side, we eliminate the primary attack vector for data breaches.
The website itself is served over modern Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS), ensuring that the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript assets loaded into your browser are encrypted and untampered with during transit.
7. User Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global Compliance)
Under major data protection regulations including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Access & Portability: Because we never collect or retain your personal data or credentials, we do not have records to retrieve.
- Right to Deletion: Your data is automatically discarded from browser memory the moment you refresh or navigate away from the page.
- Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with any third parties.
